Emerson Fan Blades
Emerson blades are custom made by hand from up to six layers of wood. Every blade is matched, weighed and micro-balanced to within one gram to assure smooth, quiet operation. In addition, all Emerson blades are sealed to resist moisture. Many blades packaged with Emerson fans are reversible, with different finishes on each side to give additional design flexibility. Many outdoor-use fans feature all-weather wet location blades, made from weather-resistant ABS materials. These blades are engineered to preserve appearance and performance in the toughest conditions. Select from a wide variety of finishes including furniture-quality rich hardwoods, contemporary high-glosses or textures.

Emerson Fan Finishes
Emerson ceiling fan finishes are designed for long-lasting beauty and durability. Most Emerson fans are die-cast from zinc rather than stamped from steel, so that our fans hold the luster of plating and painting with perfect detail. Plated finishes, such as brass, are long-lasting and resist corrosion as each finish is hand-polished and lacquered to prevent tarnishing. Painted finishes are rich and durable. Some use a superior electrostatically applied powder coating for better adhesion and luster while other finishes are hand-painted to achieve extraordinary depth, richness, and one-of-a-kind beauty.

Ceiling Fans by Room Size Emerson Fan Sizes
All Emerson fans --whether 29", 36", 42", 50", 52" or 54"--provide quiet and efficient operation. More and more consumers are discovering that, with this wide variety of choices, they can put a ceiling fan in every room and it will add to the ambience while cutting down on energy costs. In fact, homeowners have made ceiling fan design one of the fastest growing categories of home accents in the last decade. Ceiling fans are offered in so many specific decor choices that they have become the ideal way to provide light, air circulation, and a decorative touch to just about every room in the house. Years ago, homeowners whould not have imagined ceiling fans in the powder room, kitchen, or walk-in closet. Today, you can find a fashionable fan in every one of those living spaces an much more!
For maximum performance, choose the right fan size for your room.

To get the most comfort from your fan, Emerson recommends fan sizes for the following rooms:

Fan Size Application Room Size
29" Fan Bathroom and hallways Up to 50 sq. ft.
36" Fan Breakfast nooks and laundry rooms Up to 75 sq. ft.
42" Fan Small bedrooms and small kitchens Up to 100 sq. ft.
50" or 52" Fan Standard bedrooms and family rooms Up to 400 sq. ft.
54" Fan Great rooms and large areas Over 400 sq. ft.

There is an Emerson fan for every room. For long or large rooms, consider more than one fan to handle your cooling requirements. For maximum comfort, the fan should be placed as close to the center of the room as possible. Blade tips should be at least 18 inches from any wall.

Standard 8-ft Ceilings
Emerson fans are designed to fit a standard eight-foot ceiling, which puts the blades seven feet from the floor for the best air movement and clearance.

Ceilings Under 8-ft
Use the Emerson Ceiling Mounting Kit or go with an Emerson Snugger model to achieve the desired seven-foot blade clearance. Emerson offers an extensive selection of Snugger models to accommodate your needs.

Standard Ceiling Ceiling Fans

Ceilings Above 8-ft
Emerson for ceilings above eight feet, the fan should be hung by a downrod to eight or nine feet from the floor. This is important because the higher the fan is hung, the less air circulates near the floor. Choose one of the accessory downrods available in lengths of one foot to six feet to achieve your desired height.

Sloped Ceilings
The Emerson Ceiling Mounting Kit and the appropriately sized downrod will accommodate cathedral ceilings and sloped ceilings up to 40°. The dual purpose kit (low and sloped ceilings) allows you to mount your fan as close as eight inches from the ceiling.

Remote and Wall Controls
For the ultimate in operating convenience, consider a remote control or wall control. Easy to install and operate, thesee controls change fan speeds and light levels at the touch of a button. For the latest in control technology, you can choose from the SR330 AirDesign Remote Control or the SW350 AirDesign Wall Control - the first controls in the industry to offer independent uplight/downlight operation.

Emerson Light Fixtures
Emerson makes it easy to mix and match fans and light fixtures to find the look you want. Or you can always create your own look by choosing a fitter and glass from a wide range of styles and options. For the latest in lighting fashion, consider indirect uplighting. This uplight feature allows you to bounce ambient light off the ceiling in a more subtle, comfortable fashion.

Emerson Fan Motor Warranties
Emerson offers some of the most comprehensive warranties in the ceiling fan industry, backing up their fans with 10, 30, and in most cases, Lifetime warranties.

EPACT 2005 Compliance
EPACT CompliantOn August 8, 2005, President Bush signed into law H.R. 6, the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Among its many provisions was legislations encouraging energy efficiency and conservation in electrical appliances. Specifically on ceiling fans, the socket size of pre-installed uplights and downlights was reduced from a "medium" socket (the standard socket used in a table or floor lamp) to candelabra and/or E17 intermediate base sockets. Emerson has added the E17 bulb in both frosted and clear for more lighting options in 40 and 60-watt configurations. Additionally, all fans must be reversible and have separate controls for fan speeds and lighting. Emerson is at the forefront of the drive for conservation, and being among the first to comply with EPACT is another indication of this dedication to the environment. All EPACT-compliant ceiling fans will have the logo displayed. We are proud to be carrying a line that has environmental considerations at the forefront of their business. Some specific changes are:

Odyssey, Raphael and Raphael Tiffany - Products manufactured in 2007 will include a wall control and SW105 receiver. New model numbers denote the EPACT compliant versions: Odyssey (CF2455), Raphael (CF2605) and Raphael Tiffany (CF2680). Limited quantities of pre-EPACT models (CF2454, CF2600 and CF2675) will be available while supplies last.

The diagram below, provided by Emerson Fans, does an excellent job of graphically demonstrating what kinds of bulbs are EPACT compliant. Click here for more info on this important legislation.
