Available with a Tortoise, Turquoise, and Green glass finial, this is one of our most popular Bago Luma items.
Construction
Each Bago Luma piece is painstakingly shaped by hand, using traditional hand-forged methods that have been passed down for centuries. Pieces of iron are held in the fire until they become virtually white-hot. Those pieces are then forged into shape, then welded together to create a product that is as unique as the person who formed it. The Scrolled Corner Baker's Rack shown here is an example of this construction. The elaborate scrolls seem to explode from the sides of the rack. The beautiful ironwork is wonderfully accented by an optional marble work surface. It may be purchased as a frame only or with optional shelves at an additional charge. This is a piece that is destined to be cherished for years to come.
Finishes
Bago Luma offers a multitude of hand applied finishes and slecting that finish is an important part of getting the look you want. The natural Rust finish is featured on most of their products. It can be considered their flagship finish. The Sheer Metal finish gives some iron pieces a rustic yet industrial feel that is popular in more contemporary settings. For a cleaner more traditional look, many go with Antique Black. Remember, you choose the finish and you set the tone...to get the iron furniture piece that is perfect for you! The Slipper Table shown here in the Rust finish also lends itself to a variety of finish treatments. This item is a very clever portable table that slips over your sofa seat or tucks nicely between two chairs.
Stone Tops
Bago Luma offers natural stone tops on many of their pieces. Slabs of Travertine Marble and Copperstone Marble are stunning displays of the beauty of nature brought to the home. The slabs has streaks of mineral in them with small holes caused during the stone formation. They are cut, sanded, and impregnated with a sealer. Colors for both stones vary, but the Travertine is cream and ivory while the Copperstone is reddish-brown. The Medium Marble Trivet, like all trivets, is available in Travertine or Copperstone top. These trivets can be used for food presentation or to showcase your collectibles. Thick slabs of marble are hand chiseled and mounted on forged iron feet. The marble is then sealed for stain resistance.
Weather Resistant Finishes
Bago Luma has worked hard to develop a process that allows them to produce finishes that are suitable for use in an unprotected outdoor environment. These finishes are expected to perform as well or better than traditional powder coating, while allowing Bago Luma to continue with their policy of offering only handcrafted and hand finished products. These finishes are not limited to outdoor use; they will look great in any room of the house! The Bristol Collection Wall Frieze is one example of a Bago Luma product that is perfect for indoors our out, depending on your finish selection. This decorative freize offers heavy iron materials which are hand forged to create a design and quality second to none.
