Some Background Information
Ken Bauer began his company over 10 years ago, travelling through the old colonial haunts of the British, Dutch, and French. He found unique pieces of furniture still being made in these locations, which ranged from the tea plantations of India to the Kenyan savannah to the lush island of Java.
Each of their creations is individually hand-crafted and has its own story, its own soul. Created using the same centuries-old techniques as the original master craftsmen, each piece is hand-crafted using mortise-and-tenon joinery, lost-wax brass castings, durable shellacs and hand-rubbed waxes. They use only the finest materials available, from cultivated hardwoods and veneers to natural fibers and leathers. Like its forebears, each is built for lifetimes of use and enjoyment.
