From the Royal Palm Collection, this writing desk is made from woven rattan pole and rattan mat antiqued in a distressed tortoise shell finish and Raffia top. This piece is modelled after late 1800's plantation writing desk with an Edwardian influence. This desk harkens back to the beginning of the Raj era in English history, with British officers and merchants setting up shop across South Asia. One can imagine an English merchant writing letters back home from the veranda of his plantation in Burma, Ceylon, or the East Indies. As Featured in Oprah At Home Magazine!

My home has a lot of tropical design and this desk looks great in my study, complimenting the furniture and decor. Its very practical for a laptop computer.
