Twin Size Trundle & Sleeper Beds |
|
An iron daybed is perfect for a child's room or guest room, adding extra space in a decorative and sylish manner. A Daybed is typically defined as a twin bed with a back attached to it so it can be pushed up against a wall, like a sofa or loveseat. Daybeds are sometimes called Trundle Beds.
Twin beds can also be Trundle Beds...they just do not have the back frame like daybeds have. In this section, you will find some Trundle Beds made by Wesley Allen identified as Sleeper Beds. Sleeper Beds can also be purchased in a full size.Click here to find full-size Sleeper Beds
With most daybeds, springs attach to the frame so all you need is a twin mattress. No boxspring is necessary. Daybeds or Trundle beds hide a roll-out trundle unit that creates a second bed. We typically sell the roll-out trundle unit separately here at Carolina Rustica. Check to see if one is included with your bed. The trundle quickly slides out from beneath the bed and locks into position, giving you the convenience of an extra sleeper bed when space is at a premium (like those holidays!). The hi-rise trundle unit lowers and slips back away in seconds. The image below shows a daybed with a hi-rise trundle unit. Please remember to look at the product details carefully to determine if you are buying a bed with a hi-rise trundle unit

A few points to consider:
1. Our iron day beds from Wesley Allen use a slatted frame which rests approximately 16" from the floor with a 15" clearance, room enough for most trundle units.
2. Please pay close attention to pricing in this section. Both Daybeds and Sleeper Beds include a slatted frame. Neither the daybed nor the sleeper includes the trundle unit. You may buy the trundle unit separately on each detailed product page.
3. The daybed or sleeper accomodates a second 39" x 75" twin mattress. The trundle unit, when raised up, is not designed to be perfectly level with the twin bed and we do not recommend that you use the two mattresses as one single unit. This is a manufacturer recommendation. Also, the trundle unit does not attach to the bed. It only locks into an upright position.
4. Wesley Allen daybeds and sleeper beds should work with any standard roll-out trundle unit.
