Charleston Forge was started in 1974 by Art and Susan Barber, when they opened a small retail fireplace shop in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolifna. They sold high-quality iron furniture and accessories and also learned to custom build wrought iron fire screens, wood baskets, log racks and pot racks. A few years later, they began selling to other retailers when their product line had expanded to include bakers racks and bar stools. Their flagship iron finish, Antique Pewter, set the standard for a natural iron finish that gave the product a sophisticated complete look, yet allowed for the true inner beauty of the iron to come through.

Charleston Forge offers a variety of beautiful iron finishes, from clear coat finishes such as Antique Pewter to baked-on finishes such as Textured Black. The company has also introduced some beautiful hand-painted finishes as well, which work well if you have a specific color palette you are working with. Charleston Forge makes all of its own wood tops for occasional and dining tables here in North Carolina.
