These beds are of the absolute, highest quality with no detail overlooked. They come complete with a heavy-duty superior grade iron frame. As Elliott himself says: "It's good to know that there are still a few things in life that you can count on. An Elliott's bed is one of them. In a world where quality and service has become an everyday promise but a rare practice, people can appreciate that both still have deep meaning and are strongly upheld by the people at Elliott's Designs". There is much truth to that statement, and at Carolina Rustica, we have found both their product and people to have the highest degree of honesty and expertise. They are one of the few companies we have dealt with that are happy to answer consumer questions direct (in the unlikely instance that we do not know the answer. We have been carrying Elliott's for ten years now, and have a good degree of product knowledge).

Styles:
Elliott's Designs is best known for their antique reproduction Victorian-era beds, such as the Emily Bed, which captures the perfect balance between design and sensibility that so characterized that era. The Emily Bed is one of Elliott's first product introductions and remains a top-seller. They also specialize in some stunning Art Deco style beds, with graceful and artful curves, like the popular Laurelynn Bed, another long-time Elliott's bestseller. Close to Art Deco in style, but with greater use of flowing lines, is the Art Nouveau style of beds. The Anna Bed is a wonderful example of the overall Art Nouveau movement, which was popular in this country in the late 20's and 30's. All of these design styles originated in Europe and eventually made their way here, finding expression in furniture, architecture, lighting, and other artistic mediums. There are very few iron bed manufacturers who still reproduce these beautiful designs, and none with the skill or elegance of Elliotts Designs.

Iron Bed Finishes:
Elliott's Designs has developed a unique palette of finishes which reflect the time-lost elegance and handcrafted nature of their collection. Elliott's Designs prepares each bed for electrostatic powder painting by first adding texture to the cast metal bed in a custom built giant 'roto-blaster', developed specifically for Elliott's. This etching and cleaning process allows the electrostatically applied powder paint to bond into the scarred metal surface, covering each nook and nuance of the iron bed. The finished bed then enters enters large curing ovens which bakes on the finish and produces the most chip resistant finish available. This curing process is what also produces the patterns and details of the finish. Each and every bed is unique in terms of exact finish pattern. Each iron bed is truly a work of Iron Art and is proudly hand crafted in the USA.

Materials:
Elliott's uses only uses heavy gauge steel tubing and solid rods for extra strength to achieve the secure feel of the antique bedstead. Genuine brass is used in all Elliott's beds where brass accents are an integral feature of the style, never brass-plated steel. All of Elliott's Designs castings are hand poured and hand detailed using our unique aluminum alloy for high definition clarity and structural strength. Castings on an Elliott's bed are structural joints just like the antiques, not merely ornamental.

Construction:
Starting with the finest quality raw materials available, each bed is handcrafted from beginning to end. Every Elliott's Designs bed is meticulously formed from heavy gauge steel tubing and solid rod. Particular attention is paid to the original design's scale and size, while making alterations only necessary to accommodate today's larger sizes. Aluminum alloy castings are poured, filed and hand-detailed to form the permanent decorative cast joints. Each piece of decorative genuine brass is hand-polished to perfection and powder-coated with a clear water base enamel finish. These construction features allow us to offer a lifetime structural warranty on every Elliott's bedstead.

Frame:
The frame is made with oversized heavy-duty angle steel for added support and strength. The frame features recessed legs, center supported for queen and king sizes. The frame requires no tools for assembly. The bed hitches are welded on instead of bolted on to the steel tubing. The hitches provide a flat surface to insure a tough, rigid, and long-lasting mounting surface for the attachment of the frame. The picture at the right shows an Elliott's Designs bedframe assembled. One of the nicest features of the frame is that it can be set up independently of the headboard and footboard, which can then be bolted on. We recommend two people set up the bed.
