Quality, design, honesty and trust began as the cornerstone philosophy of Especially for You, an atmosphere which remains to this day. Especially For You builds contemporary, transitional and modern styles of handcrafted wood furniture. Inspired by a love of antiques, Mona Zelienka decided one day to have some Amish carpenters living in her rural Wisconsin neighborhood build some reproductions for her to sell at the local crafters sale. 1982 became a year filled with trips to festivals throughout the Midwest. Not only was it fun, but it became a tremendous learning experience. It was clear that hardwood furniture products made using fine craftsmanship, sold at a fair price, were popular and successful.

In 1984 Mona's husband Jack came on board. Up to this point, Especially for You was becoming King of the Crafters. "Where do we go from here?" was often the topic at the dinner table. Eventually a decision was made - not only would the company sell their products to the wholesale market, they would do so nationally. An agreement was reached with a national sales organization to represent the company's handcrafted line. Soon, a well known chain of specialty retail stores gave them their first order. It wasn't long before their storage sheds were filled with their products. One thing Jack and Mona vowed never to forget was that quality and fair price gave them their success. Through the 1980s the company established itself as one of the most reliable manufacturers in the giftware industry. Quality, design, honesty and trust became the cornerstone philosophy of Especially for You, an atmosphere which remains to this day.

Into the 1990s, the product line grew from a few hundred to over 700 unique products. Some of the most creative design talents in the indrustry were brought on board to evolve and refine the product line. The company was growing by leaps and bounds with new collections and designs. Then on August 1st, 1996 a devastating fire ravaged part of the factory, the entire shipping area and the office complex.

The State of Wisconsin knew right away what was lost. With the help of the State Legislature and the Governor's Office, a new complex was soon completed. Since that day sales have tripled, giving Central Wisconsin a true economic boost.

Today, Especially for You continues to be a major player in the industry. In August 2005 the company announced today thier commitment to the High Point Furniture Market by signing a five year lease and opening a newly renovated and expanded showroom in the Design Center of the IHFC Building.

Their pool of talented and nationally recognized artists has grown to nine. These individuals all have a faithful audience of collectors that help make their work sought after and valuable. Their occasional furniture and home accessory line has also evolved - two distinct lines have been evolved for thier Home Collection alone.
