Iron Chandeliers are the most classic and time-honored piece of iron furniture in the house. Its origins go back centuries, perhaps as long as man has needed illumination. With such an incredibly rich heritage, its no wonder that iron chandeliers can take such a variety of forms...all with the same purpose of illuminating the dining room.
Our iron chandelier collection has grown to encompass hundreds of styles and options, from simple hand-forged iron chandeliers to elaborate works of delicate scrolls, iron leaves and crystal. We have iron chandelier lighting options for your dining room, great room, and foyer. From small iron chandeliers with only a few lights to very large multi-tiered iron chandeliers with over twenty lights that would be suitable for a commercial atrium or lobby. We are proud to be representing some of the finest U.S. manufacturers available. Spend some time perusing the collections of Hubbardton Forge, 2nd Avenue Designs, and Currey and Company (among others).
The classic look of an iron chandelier is epitomized by the 2-Leaf Chandelier by Hubbardton Forge. With five arms sweeping gently up, and two hammered iron leaves surrounding the stem, this is one of the quintessential looks in wrought iron. This lighting fixture uses exposed candelabra bulbs for the simplest effect possible.
Another classic design is a downlight version, using glass shades. The Sweeping Taper Chandelier by Hubbardton Forge that the effect is more transitional, with graceful arched lines that have a more updated look and opal glass shades rounding out the effect. This is an iron chandelier that can work in many rooms as well, due to its modest size and is a perfect dinette chandelier.
We also feature dozens of manufacturers that manufacturer their lighting in a pre-selected finish that they have designated for that particular style. Nobody is a better master at this than Currey and Company, in our opinion. With their masterful design sense and ability to blend material with form, Currey is a natural at pre-selecting particular finishes for their iron lighting creations.
Lastly, its important to consider the vast range of styles possible through the medium of wrought iron. More traditional forms have been highlighted above, but there are many possibilities when considering the malleable property of iron and the easy functional objective of lighting.
