Robert Abbey takes extraordinary care with their finishes to achieve the best look possible for each light fixture. For example, the Natural Brass and Deep Patina Bronze finishes are left unlaquered and allowed to age naturally. A traditional wax finish is applied after polishing which adds to the deep, rich look and allows the finish to patina more slowly and naturally. This can add to the drama of a piece that uses a lot of glass for its effect, enhancing the contrast, such as the Lafayette White Cased Glass Double Canopy Pendant shown at left.

David Easton is one of the world's most sought-after interior designers; an honest master of neo-classical design and architecture. His lighting collection is savvy interpretation of both modern and traditional style. His inspiration comes from a variety of sources in his life - his travels, his passion for history, his eye for practicality. His genius lies in creating extraordinary pieces with a flair for contemporary comfort. He has an eye for detail and design demonstrated by such pieces as his Wavy Tortoise Shell Table Lamp. The combination of sleek contemporary design and uncommon richness is clearly reflected in these gorgeous lamps. The understated chic of his collection reflects the assurance of a seasoned and talented designer as you can see from the table lamp on the right.

Although celebrated as a practitioner and scholar of neo-classical design, David Easton is a master of many styles. His wide-ranging architectural knowledge coupled with his eye for design has enabled him to breathe life into an extraordinary line of lighting accessories created especially for Robert Abbey. One such example is the beautiful, geometric Uppark Round 6-Light Fixture in Polished Nickel with Shades. This stunner uses contrasting, architectural lines interspersed with a concentric format to create a visual feast. The partnership with Robert Abbey, like those with all of their trusted designers, looks even more promising for the future.

2008 marks the twelfth year of collaboration between Robert Abbey and designer Rico Espinet; a relationship that has allowed thousands of people to enjoy Rico's lights. His lamps and fixtures blend perspicuous lines and warm atmospheric light to create unique fixtures that affirm their environment. Merging his appreciation for the beauty of everyday objects with his background in sculpture and architecture results in a line that marries function with essential design, such as his extremely popular Copa series (the Copa 12-Light Chandelier in Silver Plate is shown at right) . Rico draws on a variety of cultural influences - from African and Cycladic to 20th Century modern art - to create beautiful lighting which reflects his fascination with the very fibers of culture. Subtle shape, clean line and practical sensibility define Espinet's lighting designs, such as the elegant yet simple Copa chandelier pictured here.
