Bernhardt’s Commonwealth Collection blends an exotic look with a touch of British influence. The group is substantial in scale and traditional in style makes a bold statement. Adding further dimension to some select pieces of this collection are touches of the exotic. These pieces are accented with embossed leather in a mock- croc pattern along with nail head trim. The collection features textured mindi wood in a brown mink finish with khaki undertones create this grand and exiting look. The burnish edges finished with a French waxed process add character. The Commonwealth Collection is sanded, distressed, stained and waxed adds to this multi layered finish process. All of the hardware is presented in a rich, patina finish. The plantation grown mahogany veneers are showcased by a Burnish Sage finish in neutral brown tones, while subtle distressing adds a look of vintage aging, a Bernhardt specialty. Bon Maison is a newer group introduced by Bernhardt and is a casual, traditional look at its finest. The group is French-inspired with the warmth and character of a time worn look. Moderate in scale, this collection is made of solid pines and pine veneers with a light brown almond finish. The accent colors include black peppercorn and an antique white. Bon Maison is distinguished by a multi-step finishing process that includes hand rubbing, hand distressing and burnishing. The accents are metal in a blackened aged bronze finish adding visual interest and texture and hardware is blackened, aged and bronzed finish complimenting the antique look. Bon Maison offers a lighter brown tone finish with a mix of accent finishes sure to offer you the look and feel of home.

James Island is a more traditional collection inspired by the flair of the beautiful South, so it is naturally a popular collection here at Carolina Rustica. This traditional style offers a comforting elegance and a gracious style of living that can easily adapt to changing lifestyles. It is a quintessential Bernhardt Furniture collection in that sense. James Island is moderate in scale and offers soft subtle shapes, bowed fronts and graceful lines. The finish is a rich, dark brown Palmetto finish adding depth. Intricate hardware is presented in brass colors layered with a warm brown glaze lending an antique look and feel.

Perhaps the most popular group within Bernhardt is Vintage Patina, a collection that is heavily influenced by an ageless elegance. Made with plantation grown mahogany veneers, this is a collection for those upscale homeowners who want their décor to evoke a comfortable, welcoming ambience. With Vintage Patina, one can mix and match colors with a mid-tone tobacco finish or a deeper, richer molasses finish. Of particular note is the French waxed finish followed by a distressed, hand planed antique aged look.
