About Stone County Ironworks

Stone County Ironworks Stone County Ironworks creates heirloom, hand-forged iron furniture. Blacksmiths use artistic ability and traditional tools like the hammer, anvil, and forge to create unique works of art... naturally. Stone County Ironworks has truly earned the name "America's Blacksmith Shop". Using traditional hand forging techniques, Stone County Ironworks creates iron furniture and accessories, one at a time. Quality worksmanship that reflects the skill of the blacksmith continues to set Stone County apart from other manufacturers.

Stone County Ironworks was begun in an old gas station in 1979 by one blacksmith, who apprenticed and demonstrated the craft at the Ozark Folk Center in 1976. Early sales were at retail craft shows, but by 1984 wholesale accounts were the focus, with the help of 9 employees. That year a 5000 square foot building was erected with the assistance of local government agencies who sought to create opportunity in the area.

In 1989 the first Furniture Collection was showcased at an Interior Design trade show, and after rave reviews, was featured in the 1990 catalog. By then, 33,000 square feet of production and office space and over 100 employees handled 3000 wholesale accounts. A showroom and outlet store opened on the Square in downtown Mountain View in a beautiful stone building on the National Historic Register. Also, in the December 1990 issue of Inc. Magazine, Stone County Ironworks was rated #252 on the annual list of the 500 fastest growing privately held companies in the nation.

By 2003, after reorganization and consolidation of resources, the Stone County Ironworks facility at 408 Ironworks Drive was purchased by local business leader Paul Balentine. As CEO, he brings production and business expertise to the new corporation, Metal Creations, Inc. Stone County Ironworks is committed to returning to it's roots, with the reputation and standards of Made in America quality and satisfaction. The Pine Collection, Vineyard Collection, and the Designer Series (designed by the Daniel Stuart Studio) are new product lines created under new management, as we rekindle the spark of excitement and pride in workmanship learned here in Stone County.

Eden Isle Complete Bed by Stone County Ironworks

Beds
Each complete bed comes with a headboard, footboard, two side rails, three supporting cross rails, and hardware. These beds are built for beauty, but they are also hand-forged, which mean each piece of iron has been joined, heated, and hammered by an individual blacksmith.

Options for Iron Finishes, Wood Table Tops, and Seating
Most of our items are shown in Stone County's standard "Natural" finish, unless otherwise indicated. The Natural finish is not pure black, but rather, more of a dark charcoal. It will blend with black pieces quite easily. However, you may want to adhere to specific color schemes with your wrought iron furniture. Stone County has some wonderful "Premium Finishes" to accommodate these color schemes. If you want an "old world" look, Antique Pewter, Old World Gold, or Velvet Bronze would all work quite well. For a more metallic look, you may want to consider Pewter, Burnished Gold, or Burnished Copper. For a more textured look, try Rust or Woodland Brown. However, if you really want to appreciate the natural beauty of the hammered iron, the standard finish is your best bet. Premium finishes entail a 20% to the product price in the Standard Finish. Please note we cannot accept returns on Stone County Premium Finishes, which we consider to be a custom item.

Lead Times
Lead times for Stone County Ironworks’ products average six to eight weeks, as each piece is hand forged to order.
